“What I Learned From Genesis II” – From the Teen Parents

  • At Genesis II I have learned how to be a better parent to my child.  I have learned what to expect from my child and what is best for her.
  • I learned how to bond with my baby better.  And how to deal with stress.  I learned how to treat her better and take care of her needs better.

“My Growth at Genesis II” – From a Family Focus Mother

  • The day I started Genesis was very scary because I knew I had to begin dealing with all my Demons that I have hid inside of me. I was very quiet my first couple of months, and I never talked to no one. When teachers would call on me, I would not say anything. I never showed my feelings or told anyone how I was feeling. After a couple months went by, I started opening up to people a little, but I still did not tell people a lot. I was very angry, so I was always on my defense. I would never talk about how I got into the life-style of crime. I started to open up and realized that no one at Genesis was trying to hurt me that they are really trying to help me. I also realized that there are people in this world that really care about my well-being and me. I started realizing what I was doing to my body and that kind of life style is not good for me. The more I came to Genesis the more I was changing for the best. I started to become a better parent and role model for my child. Genesis II has made me a better person, and I am conscience of not allowing the same situation to occur again. I can now recognize warning signs, and I am becoming a better parent. Now, I recognize that not everyone is out to hurt me. Genesis II has also provided me with a lot of help in obtaining resources for housing, job skills, job seeking, and places to go if I need help with everyday needs. I am a graduate of Genesis, and I am a very changed individual who has grown a lot. I want to thank Genesis II for the help, time, support, and a chance to change in their program.
